Our Baby Room

Our baby room offers a warm, friendly and happy environment with activities which are able to develop young baby’s minds. All the Babies in our care are treated as individuals by our experienced staff. Your baby will be allocated a Key Carer who will liaise with you to understand your Childs routine and ensure that life at nursery closely follows life at home our experienced staff will keep careful records of each child’s day and will note any important developments which will then be discussed with you. We will encourage the Babies to experience different stimuli in the form of natural textures through heuristic play.

Babies also have their own garden where they can freely explore their outside environment and to develop other skills such as climbing etc. Weather permitting; babies will be taken out for walks in buggies or enjoy outdoor activities. 

 

Our Toddler Room -

Once the babies start outgrowing the Baby Room they will be gradually introduced to the Toddler Room where they will begin a new program of activities. These will include baking, sand play, crafts, singing and stories.

Within the Toddler room your child will gain in confidence and want to explore their new found skills. We plan for this stage and offer the encouragement and patience which enables these skills to flourish. The children will take part in new activities, which will add further stimulation during their fun packed day.

 All Children will be guided through an interesting and varied day where they are encouraged to make choices and develop their own personalities.

Staff will ensure a regular rotation of toys, jigsaws etc, as well as introducing planned themes for craft activities.

They will receive the benefit of regular outdoor play (weather permitting), as well as free play and structured play within the playroom i.e. the home corner, construction area and the messy area.

 

Staff will help children to learn basic social skills such as considering others, sharing, good manners and taking turns.

As in the Baby Room staff will continue to monitor progress and observe interests

Our Pre-School Room –

Children will normally be moved to this room when they turn three but may be moved to this room earlier or later if staff feel that it is appropriate for an individual child. In pre-school the emphasis is on helping your child become a Successful Learner, Confident Individual, Responsible Citizen and an Effective Contributor. Through all the activities on offer our qualified staff will prepare your child for the next challenges which school will bring.  There are lots to do and explore within the Pre-School Room such as, water, sand, role play, story area, Small world area, arts and crafts, computer area, an investigative area and a mathematics area.

Qualified staff will assess your Childs individual development in conjunction with the Curriculum for Excellence 

 

We also offer Pre-School funded places for children aged between three and five years.
